Tuition Reduction

There are several ways that parents at Oskaloosa Christian reduce the amount of tuition that they have to pay. You are invited to explore one or more of these options.

  • Tuition Assistance

Oskaloosa Christian participates in the School Tuition Organization, a program giving from the State of Iowa.  In it, donors give money to the organization in return for tax credits.  Those donations can then be given out in the form of scholarships to families who qualify.  The Board of Trustees also maintains a tuition assistance fund.  Each year families who wish to apply for Tuition Assistance submit an application to a third party.  This third party reviews the finances of each applicant and returns a report to the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustees.  The Finance Committee at Oskaloosa Christian award tuition grants of up to 40% off the cost of tuition based upon the needs of families who have applied along with the availability of assistance funding.  Families who have further need than their initial application reports, they may contact the school to get in touch with a finance committee member to discuss additional options.

  • N.I.C.E Program

Pella Christian High School has partnered with us to provide tuition assistance to families new to Christian education.  If you are a family new to Christian education and you have a child going into 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and you meet our admissions policy, you are eligible.  No strings attached!  Half of your tuition for that student will be paid the first year you are in Christian education and one-fourth of your tuition will be paid the second year.  There are no commitments or contracts or sign.  It is a way they can help introduce families to Christian education who have not experienced it before.  All you have to do is call the school office at (641) 672-2174 for more information and to register.

  • T.R.I.P. (Tuition Reduction Incentive Program)

TRIP is simply a word that means “substitute money” – in other words, TRIP is gift cards/certificates from local and national retailers. TRIP participating retailers agree to sell their gift cards/certificates to Oskaloosa Christian School at a discount. TRIP participating families buy the certificates for full face value and redeem them for full face value. The discount goes directly into the account you specify on your registration form.
