Admissions
Oskaloosa Christian School views itself as an extension of the Christian home, partnering with parents in the spiritual and academic development of their children, and preparing them for a life of discipleship in Jesus Christ. We are dedicated to providing a Christ-centered education for Christian families who seek to nurture their children within this framework.
We invite families who share our core values to apply for admission. These values include:
– Public Worship: Demonstrated through active church involvement and commitment.
– Private Worship: Evidenced by a consistent prayer life, Bible study, and devotions within the home.
– Christ-Centered Living: Acknowledging God’s sovereignty over every aspect of life.
– Parental Involvement: Active participation in their child’s education.
Families aligned with these principles are encouraged to join our school community.
Contact the Director of Learning and Advancement at 641-672-2174 ext. 13 or email Admissions@oskaloosachristian.net about your interest in OC. Make an appointment to tour the school.
Prospective families will complete the following Admission process:
1. Application Submission: Prospective families complete an online application form, which helps us assess alignment with the core values shared by all families in our community.
2. Position Statement on Human Sexuality: Applicants must sign our Position Statement on Human Sexuality, indicating their agreement with this policy.
3. Pastor’s Recommendation: A recommendation letter from the pastor of the family’s current church is required.
4. Family Interview: An interview with school administration is conducted to clarify the school’s expectations, discuss procedures, and address any questions the family may have.
5. Recommendation to the Board: Following the interview, school representatives may make a recommendation to the Board regarding the family’s acceptance.
6. Students will undergo academic testing for appropriate grade-level placement.
7. Enrollment: Upon acceptance, the family completes the online enrollment application. This includes providing necessary information, acknowledging financial obligations, and affirming agreement with the school’s foundational beliefs and purpose.
Admission Process Timeline
The admission process typically takes between 1 to 4 weeks, depending on the timing of the application, submission of the Pastor’s recommendation, and completion of the family interview. Since the Board meets monthly, the duration can vary based on these factors.
