Mr. Mitchell began his teaching career in 1995 at Westminster Christian School in Elgin, IL after earning his B.S. in secondary mathematics education from Miami (OH) University. After seven years at Westminster, he became principal at Mitchell Christian School in Mitchell, South Dakota. While serving there, he earned his Master's degree in education leadership and administration from Northern State University in 2006. In 2007, he began serving at Mansfield Christian School in Mansfield, Ohio as the academic dean for the school. In 2014, he accepted the position of administrator at Dakota Christian School in Corsica, South Dakota, where he served until 2018. He now serves as the principal at Oskaloosa Christian School.
Mr. Mitchell and his wife, Joy, have been married for 23 years. They have been blessed with two sons. Jeremiah is a sophomore at Northwestern College in Orange City, where he is double majoring in theology and philosophy and aspires to attend seminary followed his undergraduate. Micah is a senior at Pella Christian and plans to go to college to become a history teacher and, later on, a professor at the college level
